ADMINISTRATION
The City Clerk acts as an
administrative liaison between the City Council
and the Mayor, as provided by State law and city
code.
The City Clerk has many responsibilities
including:

Preparing bi-weekly City
Council agendas;

Maintaining the
official minutes of City Council meetings:
-
Authenticating and recording
official acts of the city;
-
Maintaining all legislative
records & documents;
-
Attesting to the correctness of & certifying documents
executed by the Mayor and
Council;
-
Providing information about city
business, policies, etc., to the public;
-
Processing and
maintaining all city records and documents
including
resolutions, ordinances,
contracts, agreements, board &
committee appointments,
petitions for annexation,
insurance polices & bonds.
The City Clerk is also the Treasurer
and is responsible for revenues
received by the City, for control
and investment of City funds and for
preparing and monitoring budgets.

Annual
Business (Privilege)
Licenses
|
Each
business operating within
the City of Cullman is
required to purchase an
annual privilege license.
Privilege licenses are
renewable and due January
1st of each year and are
delinquent on February 1st.
A 15% penalty is imposed for
licenses not renewed by
January 31st. If not renewed
by March 1st, a 30% penalty
is imposed.
In order to obtain or renew a City
of Cullman business license you must
complete both pages of the
Business License Application form.
Certain businesses may also need to
provide additional documentation in
order to obtain a license.
You may bring the
completed form to the City Clerk's
Office during regular business hours
or mail it to:

All new alcohol licenses are subject
to a non-refundable filing fee of
$200. All licenses issued will
follow a calendar year and will not
be prorated or refunded for any
reason. All liquor licenses will
also be submitting to a 12% liquor
tax based on gross liquor sales.
To apply for an Alcohol License or
to view rates download and complete
the
alcohol license application.
To
renew your Alcohol License, complete
the
alcohol license renewal application. You may
also download the
alcohol
ordinance tax or fee bond.
Applications will be reviewed by the
ARC (Alcohol Review Committee), who
will then make recommendations to
the
City Council. ARC members are: Tommy Waldrop, Zac Wood,
Ronnie Easterwood, Phillip Harbison, Police
Chief Kenny
Culpepper, Fire Chief Edward Reinhardt,
Jr., & City Clerk Ruth W. Rose.
Completed applications must be
brought to the City Clerk's Office,
located in Cullman City Hall at 204
2nd Avenue Northeast,
by the manager or owner of the
establishment.

The
City of Cullman allows two (2)
yard sales per year to be held
at any residence within city
limits. You must obtain a
yard sale permit
before the date
of the sale.
A yard sale permit can be
obtained between the hours of 8
a.m. and 4 p.m. at the City
Clerk's Office, which is located
inside Cullman City Hall at 204
Second Avenue Northwest. You may
print a yard sale permit
request form
here to bring
with you.
The permit fee
is $5.00 per day. Upon payment
of the permit fee, you will
obtain a receipt and a permit
sign, which should be displayed
during the sale.
If you purchase
a permit but are unable to have
your sale on the day(s)
specified due to inclement
weather, you can bring your card
and receipt back to the Office
of the City Clerk and be issued
a rain date(s) for your sale.
Yard Sale Sign
Rules: Ordinance
239 states:"... it shall
be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation to
attach any sign or
advertising matter of any
kind to any light pole
belonging to the City of
Cullman, or in any manner
deface the said poles by any
act not in conformity to the
recognized use of same".

Do not attach any signs
to any utility poles or
to any traffic or
directional signs.
-
Do not place signs on
city or state
rights-of-way.
-
Remove all yard sale
signs immediately
following the sale.

Each
owner of a dog or other animal
subject to the licensing
provisions of the ordinances
shall obtain a license tag from
the City Clerk. It shall be
unlawful for any person to
possess, keep, or harbor in the
city any dog or other animal
required to be vaccinated for
rabies by Alabama law which does
not have attached to it a
license tag as herein required.
Before any license tag shall be
issued for any animal, the
applicant shall pay to the City
Clerk a license tax or fee as
follows:
Un-spayed or un-neutered over
six months of age: $20.00
Spayed or neutered: $5.00
Un-spayed or un-neutered under
six months of age: $5.00
