Comment: I am the granddaughter of Ernest White. I have not seen him in over 13 years, while serving my country, just as many of the White's have and still are. I was looking through your site and found an article with him in it. He was giving Mayor Townson historical articles about the USS Cullman. I would like to take this time to thank you. Seeing his picture reminded me of the 80's when the entire White Family Clan would go to Cullman Alabama and spend the summer eating good food, sharing great stories, sneaking across the street to get vegetables from the old man’s garden, waiting for the sun to fall with my brothers and cousins just so we could see how many firefly's we could catch. Yet, the most important memory out of all of those is always being welcomed by my grandmother, Floriene White. She was always the cool breeze on those Alabama summer nights that made them bearable and memorable. I will love and miss her always. April L. Ellis-White

Note from Webmaster: See our USS Cullman page to see more about the historical photo and information presented to Mayor Townson by Mr. Ernest White.

Comment: I visited your city today in order to pick up something at the High School. I must say I was greatly impressed. Your community, students, and faculty were very wonderful. The manner in which all the people I encountered there carried themselves was like a breath of fresh air. Not to mention everything was so clean! I didn't have time to do a lot of sight seeing. I found this wonderful site when I returned home. It is impressive as well...all of the links work. I plan on making a longer trip to explore more later in the year. The pride and respect that you all hold for your heritage, your community, and yourselves...well it is just very inspiring.

Comment: Hello, I'm Tina Cofer, I have lived in Cullman all my life. I love this place, and feel like it is a super great place to raise children, although they dont like it due to the fact of not having much to do, they don't realize that they have so much more to do now than we ever did. Even as a child, when I grew up, I would say that I didn't have anything to do here, but then I would watch the news and things and be so frightened thinking how proud I was that I lived in a safe area, I know there is bad things that happen here, but not like it is in other places. I still feel like its a safe place though!

Comment: Why is the Mayor endorsing a web development company that is located in New York? If I were a tax paying web development company in Cullman I would be livid. This is one of the most arrogant disregard for a constituency I have ever witnessed and way to close to home. What a shame a local people will pay a NY company for services available at home.

Comment: I heard about your $5K an ad offer to get companies to advertise on the city website using CGI Communications. It's interesting that Cullman's city government chose to pass over the various companies and professionals located in Cullman to work with a firm from New York to promote Cullman business online.
*See note from Webmaster below.

* NOTE FROM WEBMASTER: The City of Cullman has partnered with CGI Communications, Inc., to produce community movies through eLocalLink Internet TV that promote the City of Cullman. These promotional movies will be accessible through the existing City of Cullman web site via the link that is already present in the upper right-hand corner of the home page. They will be produced at no cost to the City of Cullman. To find out more about this video project, please contact the Mayor's Office at (256) 775-7102 or by email at lwest@cullmancity.org.

Comment: I travel through your area several times each year. Since I made my first overnight stop in Cullman I make it a point to stay there in one of your hotels on every trip. All the people I have come in contact with in the hotels and restaurants were friendly, helpful, intelligent . . . It has always been a pleasure to spend a night in Cullman. Only downside is that I cannot have a glass of wine with my dinner.
