The City of Cullman Safety & Risk Management
Office is committed to preventing or
minimizing accidents and injuries and
protecting the health and well-being of city
employees and citizens by identifying and
minimizing risks encountered in city
operations.
The Safety & Risk Management
Office accomplishes this by developing and
enforcing safety rules and regulations,
implementing safety education programs, and
providing safety supplies and equipment to
city employees.
The Safety and Risk Management Office is located
inside Cullman City Hall.
Office hours are 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.,
Monday through Friday.
The director of the Safety &
Risk Management Office is Tom Charney.
Some specific duties of the Safety & Risk Management
Office include:

Providing a monthly safety program for city
employees, educating them on safety issues.

Establishing and enforcing safety rules and
regulations for city employees.

Initiating random drug testing of city
employees.

Investigating accidents involving city employees
or property.

Working with city attorneys to investigate and
process injury or damage claims filed by
citizens against the City of Cullman.

Providing safety gear and equipment to city
employees.
